What is Enhanced Creations++ and its history

Enhanced Creations++ (EC++ for short) is a small one-person indipendent software company, established in 1997 by Angelo Mottola. Up until 2000, the main goal of EC was to create "enhanced" games and tools coded in the QuickBasic language under the DOS platform; during this period another coder joined EC in its quest as an external member, Petter Holmberg. Some great QB programs were released (the game "Wetspot 2" is still considered one of the best QB games, ever, and the DirectQB library allowed to set a new standard in QB games quality), and the EC site was a corner stone of the QB online community. EC pushed QB to its limits, also with the help of assembly, but when I (Angelo) realized EC's last QB work was almost entirely an assembly program with a little QB interface (the ProjectRT raycaster engine), I concluded it was time to leave the QB world. With great disappointment from the QB community, In january 2000 the EC site closed and Petter left membership (you can still find the farewell message on the old EC site here)... It was not the end, in fact it was just the beginning; I was coding almost entirely in assembly back then, but soon after I discovered C/C++ and fell in love with it. EC++ was born. I put up a new site and joined the Allegro community; I was coding with DJGPP under DOS first, and then with the excellent MinGW32 compiler to produce win32 applications. Since then my experience with C grew up a lot, and I became one of the developers of the Allegro opensource library itself; I started contributing some code for the Linux port, then applied heavy updates to the BeOS port and contributed the QNX and MacOS X ports which were coded from scratch single handedly. Being so involved with Allegro development and also due to my studies, I left the EC++ site abandoned for a couple of years, but now it's back with a new, completely rewritten layout! Here you will find all past, present and future works published under the EC++ logo.

IRC

I used to be often available online on IRC; nowadays I have not much free time so I rarely join the chat. Nonetheless, when I'm online, I'm in channel #allegro on FreeNode, or in #freebasic again on FreeNode under the nick lillo. No, I do not use instant messaging programs; IRC is much faster and less invasive.
