I have released a beta version of dqb2qb64 in this address:

DQB 2 QB64 (.zip)

Of course, since qb64 will work in higher resolutions as well, then DirectQB will too.

I\'m starting a conversion of DirectQB so that programs and games that use it works in QB64. As there are many functions (>130) I will probably not implement them all at once, instead I will add them in order of importance (layers, get/put, loadimage etc.).

I will post the ready versions on QB64.net for all that are interested, it will be named dqb2qb64, a thread with insight to the current developement is in QB64 discussion - Some Ideas.

Holy cow! How ironic is this?! I was just tinkering around today with DQB and thought, "gee... I wish EC was still around." And then I stumble onto the new and improved EC++!!
Amazing!

Dude, DirectQB is perfect as it is. It's the best library for development in the DOS environment as far as I'm concerned. We don't need higher rez/ colours, leave that for windows.

Whats going on new for you?
Your last blog-entry is from March 21th.

I miss you on freeBASIC.
You have already ported freeBASIC to Linux. And you have ported Allegro to BeOS.
Now freeBASIC needs also a port to MacOSX.

You have written the nice gfx-lib for freeBASIC.
But FB needs also new functions for the 21th century. There existings developer who creates the "FreeBASIC Extended Library" http://code.google.com/p/fb-extended-lib/
but they seem not so talented like you.

Then there is a mini Blitz3D for the Basic-dialect BlitzMax at
http://www.blitzbasic.com/Community/posts.php?topic=65370
It is called "miniB3D" and OpenSource.
Its nice. But there is nobody who ports it (or can port it) to freeBASIC. And there is nobody who creates diferent libaries like this which would be nice for freeBASIC.

T think the most important freeBASIC developer are v1ctor and you.
v1ctor still works on FB. But I miss you.

And the other developers are writing most libraries and so on top of FB. But there are not other people like v1ctor and you, who understand and change the assembler-parts or C parts and so on.
